So in as much as they were either not there or very quiet in terms of Argentina and Brazil, who was conspicuous in their presence and who stood out for you?
4:30
I mean, I guess Venezuela in general had a much stronger presence than the previous year.
4:37
You know, they had presentations at both image and there was a separate venue where they held the Venezuela Energy Showcase, which was jam-packed, very busy.
4:49
They had speakers from both PDVSA and the ministry, so that made it very popular.
4:58
There appeared to be a more optimistic opinion on Venezuela, especially with the new revised hydrocarbons framework.
5:08
However, sentiment still remains pretty cautious as investors continue to seek a greater certainty around that but but yeah there's a growing sense of momentum there with many hoping that next year's discussions will focus less on the potential opportunities which is what everyone's talking about this year and more on projects that have moved into execution but yeah on Venezuela we actually recently just published an insight piece on it if you want to talk about that a bit more Tom
8:09
what do you think, Victoria?
8:14
I mean, yeah, I mean, I'd say, I'd say so.
13:30
What do you think?
13:31
Yeah, I mean, after the recent elections, Petro's present- presidency is, is coming to an end, and you've got the far right, Es- Esprilla, whatever, uh, he, he won, um, and he's pledged to reauthorize new hydr- hydrocarbon explor- exploration and production.
13:48
And, you know, try and lift all the previous bans that was under the previous presidency.
13:54
Um, and obviously you've got the m- the t- the Sirius gas discovery, the six TCF resources there, which, you know, they're, they're planning to, to start production hopefully in 2030, I think it is.
14:09
But, you know, surrounding area, there's definitely more gas to be found.
15:52
Um, would you go so far as to say that those folks left too early?
16:00
Uh, I mean, I think, I think most people could probably see the future potential on the horizon with the, with the elections coming up, so I think they, they probably wanted to focus their areas, areas somewhere else.
16:12
So Shell leaving, you know, they've got Trinidad, Venezuela, that, that kind of stuff they're gonna focus on rather than waiting even though it, it looked like it was gonna change for the better.
12:46
So what's going on?
12:49
Yeah, I mean, it's definitely... more sparse in that area fewer wells have been drilled so i think i guess they're seeing how far those resources can go i mean it's likely targeting the same kind of things as lisa and pyara and yellowtail but you know around 2400 meters it's quite deep and it's more likely probably going to be a tie back than maybe a standalone and i guess maybe with the well name they're expecting it to be maybe slightly smaller than the others as well.
13:23
Yeah, that could just be a coincidence.
14:09
Yeah,
14:09
there's not so much, not many details on that one, but I mean, you've also got Ranger to the north, which they've been trying to appraise again recently.
14:21
But yeah, I guess that one's even deeper water.
14:26
So they're seeing what they can do in that part of the block rather than just their typical successful section of the southeastern portion.
