So how do you deal with this problem?

Yeah, that's a great question.

So exactly, the comparison that we would like to do is ideally have two places that for some random reasons one place got more exposed to opioids and the other didn't.

We don't have such an experiment, but we basically, what we do in the paper is basically draw on something that is kind of like a natural experiment of this sort, which is, um, basically leveraging institutional levers on how the epidemic got started.

So, so we, we were chatting before, this is an epidemic that got started on, like, the medical front.

So one of the main drivers of the epidemic was a shift in how physicians prescribe and the reasons for which physicians have been prescribing painkillers.
