Gianni ButticèHOST
5:09
Neat and tidy at the back as always in terms of build-up, but again, a lot of the build-up does come from the defenders, not necessarily from the midfielders there.
Gianni ButticèHOST
5:16
You can see, look at the passing between Cash, Lindelof, Torres, Mattson compared to Kamara and Goretzka in the middle.
Gianni ButticèHOST
5:23
Cash five yellows now has a one-match ban.
Gianni ButticèHOST
5:27
Very well spotted there, Freddie.
Dan RolinsonHOST
13:51
No, nothing on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Dan RolinsonHOST
13:53
So unless you put Lindelof there, it'll probably be
Matt LynchGUEST
13:56
Bogard.
Matt LynchGUEST
13:57
You've probably not seen it, but both John and Jacob have both been reporting that apparently Aaron Wan-Bissaka might be ready to be back for United.

8 MINS LATER

Matt LynchGUEST
22:23
No, he's still a little bit rusty.
Matt LynchGUEST
22:26
McGinn wasn't doing that because he wasn't at the races, and Kamara's not necessarily the player that's going to do that anyway because he's not the one that would set the tempo necessarily from a ball-playing perspective anyway.
Matt LynchGUEST
22:36
So you end up in this position whereby you've got Lindelof chucking balls forwards, Madsen playing balls up the line, which are going nowhere, and you end up in this endless loop where then it becomes attack after attack after attack, and there's nobody there to prevent that because we are so open, both on the wings in particular.
Matt LynchGUEST
22:53
I mean, ironically, the Fulham goal has come from the right-hand side, hasn't it? They forced a corner.
Frankie MaguireHOST
24:43
Painful to watch Midfield's invisible.
Frankie MaguireHOST
24:45
Yeah, we couldn't assert ourselves in Midfield, could we? But every time we, you know, from about the 30th minute onward, every time we get a ball from Powell or Lindelof through the Midfield into the 10 or the left 10, Fulham were just on it, cutting it out.
Frankie MaguireHOST
25:03
bullying us, winning it back.
Frankie MaguireHOST
25:05
We just did nothing, really.
Frankie MaguireHOST
28:58
Could it be Bellis at right back? I doubt Howard Bellis goes right back.
Frankie MaguireHOST
29:03
I doubt that.
Frankie MaguireHOST
29:06
I think maybe Bellis goes centre back and Lindelof out right.
Frankie MaguireHOST
29:15
I think it's going to be Bogard.
NeilHOST
2:03
We have, there we go, I'll break it a bit bigger there.
NeilHOST
2:06
We have Suzuki and Goulds, Cash, Lindelof, Pau and Mattson with Goretzka and Kamara.
NeilHOST
2:12
And then McGinn, Manzambi and Alisson all behind Nicholas Jackson.
NeilHOST
2:17
And I'm delighted to see two names there.
NeilHOST
6:36
Who plays at full back if we get an injury? And I think I've just answered my question because I think Tyrone Means is your auxiliary left back.
NeilHOST
6:43
I think Joe Gomez is your auxiliary right back.
PaddyHOST
6:46
It could also be Howard Bellas in for Lindelof to move out to the right.
PaddyHOST
6:51
You know, I wouldn't put money on Joe Gomez doing that job.
Noah FisherHOST
21:43
We saw it when we had no left back and Mings had to kind of shift out there.
Noah FisherHOST
21:46
And I mean, the only one I can see playing there is Lindelof.
Noah FisherHOST
21:50
I think he's the one that has right back experience.
Noah FisherHOST
21:54
I know it's probably going to change how we go about things in the back line with Howard Bellis, as you mentioned, but yeah, Yeah, it's going to be scary with their wits and their pace and their general ability.
Ed BarkerHOST
37:45
But Pau Torres has had a good couple of seasons.
Ed BarkerHOST
37:48
Lindelof has been reborn as well.
Ed BarkerHOST
37:50
Remember that guy?
DharnishHOST
37:52
He's actually having a good season, Lindelof.
Ed BarkerHOST
37:53
Yeah.
DharnishHOST
37:54
Lindelof, Schragomes, Buendia.
DharnishHOST
37:57
Buendia is a player that, like, because all the attackers left, he was always useful, but now he's taking more of the mantle up.
DharnishHOST
38:03
Yeah.
Chris BuddHOST
4:00
You're going to need to rest people at some point, and it's one of those where Emery almost can't win in a sense because if he makes those changes and they get pumped, which they did...
Chris BuddHOST
4:08
He's going to get a bit of stick, but then he'd probably take as much, if not more stick, if you started McGinn, Lindelof, Jackson, and one of them gets injured.
Chris BuddHOST
4:16
My thing was, you brought bloody McGinn on with 20 minutes to go.
Chris BuddHOST
4:22
Well, Mattson was one.

9 MINS LATER

Chris BuddHOST
13:35
he was there's certain game states that maybe suit him and maybe that's why Emery likes him because he knows he can drop him in but I remember seeing him in the first Champions League game at Young Boys and he started at right back and he struggled against Young Boys of all the positions you think he's probably not a right back I can see why you'd maybe put him in as a defensive central midfielder and just keep recycling the ball and moving it around but we've got so much in our rotation there they're obviously saying listen if you want to play at this football club you're going to have to be a slightly more defensive player but you know and ultimately you did have to give cash a break somewhere so that was the right thing to do but I just I don't see where he's going to progress at Villa at the moment because he's not going to get the games and we don't really know what he is and once you get a Wan-Bissaka and a Ruggieri back you've got two specialist full-backs in those positions and He's not going to play over Goretzka, Barkley, Kamara, Gomez, etc.
Chris BuddHOST
14:23
And there's probably other people who you can play in there.
Chris BuddHOST
14:26
The fact that in the big game last season, of course, he played Lindelof in there.
David MichaelHOST
14:30
I
Graeme BaileyHOST
47:02
He was.
Graeme BaileyHOST
47:04
And Craig, I'm not saying Lindelof isn't good, but you know, he's playing next to Victor Lindelof and he was absolute Rolls Royce.
Graeme BaileyHOST
47:10
He was
Craig HoneymanHOST
47:10
brilliant.
ShaneHOST
62:03
The whole thing, every single part of the game they played was absolutely incredible and they were full value for this and they will go on a run again now the way they did last year.
JamesHOST
62:13
Yeah and the fact that they've got like kind of a ragtag set of defenders with the injuries they've faced throughout the season at that spot especially at centre back and Lindelof is in there who looked past it at United and he's doing a great job for them.
JamesHOST
62:28
to continue to defend strongly as part of that system i think you mentioned cash i thought he was so good in the game so aggressive as well he was stuck to his man he didn't give him an inch and i think that was really important in the winning of the game for villa that everybody took their assignment in the game seriously like you mentioned then their next few games is Bullum at home United away Sunderland home and then even after that Ipswich away and Everton at home those are their next five in the league and you could say that they could easily take 12 13 points out of those games I think that they could be really set up then for a nice push into the rest of the year.
JamesHOST
63:07
really interesting game for them after the fulham game at the weekend is barcelona away in the champions league
CJ HookerHOST
27:25
really many.
CJ HookerHOST
27:25
Lindelof's been starting a lot, but Lindelof started every game.
CJ HookerHOST
27:29
He would be the one I'd go to, to be honest.
CJ HookerHOST
27:31
Or Matty Cash, maybe.
