like you mentioned first bangles records or garage bands or anything where you look at it is it something it's a time and place it's not what i would or is it something where you go you know we're just going to leave that over there for you
9:11
yeah well it's all of the above i think um the the first bangles record when we first made it i thought oh my god this is so slick and and produced and uh And it's barely in tune.
9:26
Actually, if you listen to it, the guitars are like, I'm pulling guitars out of tune, like all the time.
9:33
And I actually really liked that for Spangles record all over the place.
9:36
Now pre bangs, pre bangs, we're getting into some cringe territory and that's probably what you're looking for.
9:43
So when I hear, thankfully, the very few recordings of my pre-bangs world when I was working in high school with my best friend Amanda and my sister Debbie.
9:57
And we did some demos, and some of them are like, what? Nobody mentioned that you might want to raise the key.

what what is it so this is more for the people listening at at home if you've never been to joey's song what is it that you feel like if you were on the other side of the stage people would take away from it what's the vibe what's the what's what's the juice i guess is the best way to say it yeah
25:15
Yeah?
25:15
You know, and, and, uh, especially the first time, he just came out and then we were playing.
25:19
He just wanted to sing on, on Manic Monday with us.
25:21
He grabbed a tambourine and, and sang, and I think we, we did a couple of, uh, old rockabilly songs or something with him, and I was just literally, "Here's, here's my Les Paul.
25:30
Please.
25:30
Please."
26:41
Do you ever say something when you hear your song played out in the wild?
26:46
Oh, the...
5:25
How do you feel you've grown or changed as a result of this journey?
5:29
Yeah, it's interesting.
5:30
It's sort of, sometimes I do have to go back and say, "Well, wait, where, where am I in this?" I was not a good collaborator in my early songwriting days.
5:38
I was a solo writer and had to learn how to co-write, actually, which is a definite skill set.
5:44
I now enjoy it very much, but with the acknowledgement that when you are collaborating, you are creating something that is very different than what you may be doing alone in a room.
5:53
And, you know, it could be a superior effort.
5:55
You know, it often is something greater.Because of the efforts of, of your collaborators.

Have you picked a song yet on what you're gonna do to tell the story behind the song? This way, they may be ahead of the game if they come to see the show live.
