Initially, I open the latent lifts and the digital images and just determine what's on those lifts.

Is there sufficient bridge detail that's on those lifts with impressions to be able to compare? In this instance, the latent lifts and the digital images were actually duplicates of one another.

It's commonplace to take a photograph of the latent lift before you actually attempt to lift it, just in case there is a slight risk of damaging or not getting as much of a clear lift when you're lifting it.

And so it's very common to take a photograph of it prior to that lifting.

So there were duplicates of the impressions that I received.

The latent lifts were all labeled with a scale next to them where each impression was labeled by Special Agent Hammond as a different impression.
