What are you typically seeing psychologically and physically when the teenager consistently doesn't take in enough energies or enough calories?
11:24
Yeah, no, it's a great question, right? So I think, you know, from like a psychological standpoint or emotional standpoint, we know that when they lose a significant amount of weight, become underweight, that can actually trigger depression and anxiety.
11:44
So in, you know, teenagers, it would be this progressive social withdrawal and like interacting less with family or friends uh kind of keeping to themselves isolating um or staying in bed just like the apathy not wanting to engage in in activities that they previously enjoyed um even to the point of you know frank hopelessness and and and um just talking about severe depression.
12:15
Anxiety can also be triggered by the weight loss, as well as obsessive-compulsive disorder and obsessions.
12:27
can worsen.
12:29
So, and obviously that can manifest in a lot of ways.
12:33
But it will definitely be seen in the eating behavior.
