Is that why you think there's like an, like an over-revving of the immune system, and there's a lot of these kind of autoimmune issues that come?

Veerle BerginkGUEST
I, uh, I, I think that's very clear, right? But I mean, we know this from old immunities then, or, or almost all the women do feel better after pregnancy have a high risk of relapse, and that is because, yeah, as you say, during pregnancy, the immune system is somehow suppressed.

Veerle BerginkGUEST
It's of course not completely down because otherwise pregnant women would die of infection, and that is not happening at all.

Veerle BerginkGUEST
So it's just that the immune system is differently organized with more prominent role for the innate, the very basic line for defense, and not so much specific adaptive immune response.

Veerle BerginkGUEST
So, um, the professor in immunology I work with say, you know, pregnant women have the, the basic immune system of a snail or so, very simple basic immune defense.
