Why did you want to restore that funding?
19:14
Yeah, so knowing that we were in financial constraints, I know we'll talk more about this later, you know, to me it was really important that we not balance our budget on the backs of our social safety net because our social services play a very key and critical role in our community in providing what I call lifelines.
19:35
And it truly comes from a place of knowing how these services show up.
19:39
It's one thing to look at our budget and to see, okay, you're funding this service, you're funding this program, but I get to see the day-to-day impact of what that means.
19:48
That means, you know, someone avoiding eviction, being able to stay in their home.
19:53
That means someone who is living on the streets being able to access shelter and eventually housing, and it also means that for someone who is a survivor of domestic violence, for them to be able to get the help and support that they need.
20:05
And so knowing how critical these services are in our community, I wanted to make sure that we not cut our social safety net.
23:36
So what are the big takeaways for you from the process so far that you think Austinites should know about?
65:04
Are you getting any more details about what exactly led ICE agents to shoot him?
65:12
That is what the questions that we still have and we're trying to seek answers for.
65:16
And it's important that we have a local investigation so that we are able to gather the evidence and interview bystanders.
65:23
You can see from the video accounts that have been shared online what happened, but we want to ensure that there's a thorough investigation.
65:30
And we want to also happen locally.
65:33
We cannot rely upon ICE to give us all the information that we need.
65:37
They do not have a good history in that regard.
67:00
What else are you hearing from members of Austin's Latino community?

Kind of walk us through that stage of things.
14:50
Yeah.
14:50
So probably around seven months pregnant, I felt a lump in my breast.
14:55
And at that point, it was... tiny I mean it was like a I would say less than a grape size of a lump and um I felt like okay this is weird this is odd like this doesn't feel right I should do something about it and it just so happened that because I was pregnant I had all of my prenatal appointments lined up So I flagged it at my next prenatal.
15:20
And I said, hey, you know, I feel this lump in my breast.
15:22
Can you take a look at it? Very quickly, they felt it.
15:25
And they said, it's probably nothing.

Can you talk about what it was like to meet her, to bond with her over these past weeks and months while you were also navigating this cancer journey and beginning treatment? Yeah.
