Is this a space, as you see it, for Congress to really step up right now?
49:15
Yeah, I think at a minimum, I think Congress needs to, to pass things like the EastMed Gateway Act.
49:20
And, and again, to, to Sinan's point, this is an inclusive type of arrangement where, you know, they're encouraging partners to work together on energy security, on the build-out of energy alternatives to something that the whole world is now witnessing as, as a flashpoint, which is the Strait of Hormuz.
49:37
And so developing those alternatives is something that's in everybody's interests.
49:41
It's in Saudi Arabia's interest, it's in India's interest, it's in Israel's interest, it's in Greece's interest, and, and Europe's interest as well.
49:49
We just passed a major piece of legislation sanctioning Russia for their energy flows.
49:55
Those energy flows go to Europe largely, and go to Turkey as well.
51:42
How do you see this playing out over the next months, and even with the new Congress that's gonna be coming in after the midterms?
44:38
What's going on here?
44:39
Well, there's still a lot of information we need to gather on this.
44:43
I think the specifics of what third-party country may take the S-400 system matters quite a bit.
44:50
And the fate of whether Russia would allow Turkey to make this transfer is still up in the air a bit.
44:57
Some indications from Russia today say that Turkey will honor the contracts that it currently has with Russia.
45:04
Now, whether that is just paying for the rest of the system, as it's a very expensive system, the S-400 is between the... billion and $1.25 billion.
45:15
So it's still a little unclear if Turkey has fully paid that off.
47:48
Should this deal or sale actually take place? Would it clear a major obstacle in Turkey's ultimate quest for the F-35s then in the United States?
