You know, Obama wasn't president anymore, and for as much as, you know, I, you may have political grievances or not with Obama, r- he did allow for a space, I think, for Black people to feel safe to be authentic.

Um, there also could be a critique that perhaps he also provide, provided Black people a sense of complacency where they didn't feel like they needed to, uh, strive to be or do more.

But either way, when he left and there wasn't really a strong Black figure in a political sense or on a, on a national scale, uh, specifically Black people in, in United- United States were like, "Ah, we're coasting." And then were like, "Trump could never be president," and everyone kind of just laughed that off out, within and outside of the community.
