How do we make sure that the 2030 version of the tournament is more parity when it comes to payments to players, Troy? Or do we need to do that?
38:12
Well, the tournament does have parity, Jimmy.
38:15
The situation is it's an industrial agreement between the Australian Rugby League and the Kangaroos players at the RLPA negotiated.
38:25
So that's the case between the nation and their players that we don't interfere with.
38:31
And the reality is that the smaller nations don't have that capacity to pay that sort of money.
38:37
Disappointed that there is the parity gap, but everything we've done in the last couple of years, when it comes from a tournament point of view, men, women, and all nations have had parity.
38:45
The additional money that the kangaroos are getting is purely on a relationship that exists between the ARLC and the kangaroos themselves and the jewellery.
39:23
Could the distribution of that monies by the IRL go in some way towards bringing further parity? Or do you look for investment in other ways to continue to grow the international game? Or is it a combination of both, Troy?
87:14
I know this is an NRL decision, but do we get to a point where these guys are playing Test 40 more regularly?
87:23
Oh, look, that would be our absolute love and love of an outcome.
87:28
But the NRL premiership, the length of it at the moment just doesn't allow it.
87:32
Again, in line with the CBA negotiations and leave for players, workloads, which you've got to take into account, can be a very long season.
87:40
It's a brutal sport.
87:41
So, Yeah, there's hopefully those opportunities and I guess we're more of a chance going forward now that the NRL will control the draw with the new broadcast deal.
87:53
More teams coming in.
89:00
Anything you can tell us about 2030 tournament, Troy?
7:11
But how do we get to a point where these guys are playing... you know a series mid-season or do we ever get to that to that point where you know that rep window i know this is an nrl decision but do we get to a point where these guys are playing test 40 more regularly
7:27
oh look that's uh would be our absolute uh love and love of an outcome but the nrl premiership the length of it at the moment just doesn't allow it again in line with the CBA negotiations and leave for players, workloads, which you've got to take into account, can be a very long season.
7:46
It's a brutal sport.
7:47
So, yeah, there's hopefully those opportunities.
7:51
And I guess we're more of a chance going forward now that the NRL will control the draw with the new broadcast deal.
8:00
More teams coming in, draw structure for the premiership.
8:03
may open up that window.
9:06
Anything you can tell us about 2030 tournament, Troy?
1:22
Okay.
1:23
Thanks, Bruce.
1:25
Yeah, so like you said, this was my first conference representing Inveris.
1:34
It was good.
1:35
It was nice to kind of get back into that world and sort of see how everything's going on.
1:43
I think my takeaway from the conference was that there's a lot of low-key optimism amongst certainly a lot of the service companies and things on sort of expiration upticks and opportunities there after, you know, fairly large downturn with ONG majors kind of focusing on returns for shareholders, etc.
2:11
In terms of Southern South America, Uruguay was there.
