You know, just kind of share some of the origins story of Trisha Gray.

So I'll tell you, I went through a lot of bumps and bruises along the way.

Fast forward to who I am now, my journey was long and hard to get to this point.

And so after my mother passed away, well, I'll go back to the day she passed away.

and I write this in my book, I'm standing over her motionless body.

And as a 19 year old, I've got an audience of people behind me watching this play out because she died publicly.

It was public.

And like these conversations, great opportunity for me to reset and get grounded in like what's important, basically.

So

that day, I was, it was a Sunday.

And I was preparing to go to a friend's baby shower.

And at this point, my mother had a job.

She was working as a certified nursing assistant at a nursing home.

She had just gotten home from work.

It was probably about two o'clock in the afternoon.

I was

Oh, God.

That exchange between her as I'm walking down the street and seeing where she's ly- her body is lying, I literally get to a point where I am standing over her body and I'm going through a series, a rush of emotions.

Again, I'm going through-- Remember, I'm a high-- I, I'm fresh out of high school, so I'm thinking about who's watching, my friends, my community, my secret is out, the secret I've been carrying since I was a little girl in elementary school.

And so I'm having this mental conversation with her as her body lays motionless.

I'm talking to-- I'm angry with her because she died publicly, and I'm embarrassed.

I'm angry with her because she allowed us to get to this situation.

I experience a feeling of compassion because I remember how hard it was for her.

He's abusive." If they wanted to help the kids, what can they even do? What comes to mind?
