when I was, my junior year, that's when like junior summer going into senior year, that's when everybody normally starts getting recruited and stuff like that.

I was probably 6'4", 6'3", and I was like 150 pounds, but I could always shoot.

Like, I always had burner, but like any game that you would come to, I either had 15, 18, 21, 24.

Like, I was only shooting threes.

Mm.

And at that time I'm like, "You know what? Rice is probably the best academic school, and, you know, I'll play some good basketball.

Yeah

... what they do.

And, uh, yeah, and it was just to, to have that like from day one to day seven or eight of that trip to go from not knowing, wasting time on bad parcels to being like able to drive by, boom, I can see on this 120 acres about five spots where I think there's gonna be sharp-tails, go work it, actually have that come together and be just putting birds in the bag and watching the dog do the same thing and learn right alongside, like, okay, like I don't need to...

This stuff that's thin and, and crappy, nope, I'm gonna go over here and I'm gonna work this.

And just watching like him and I just kind of growing into like, that was kind of our first like all by ourselves just, just him and I and, and out there just figuring it out, and that was, that was a super special trip.

My, ended it actually with the only triple I've ever had.

I got a triple on, uh, I, I rarely shoot a semi, but, um, I had my semi with me that day and I had-- I was planning on hunting about half a day and then, and starting the long trek home.
