Can you kind of give an overview of what all, I mean, you kind of did, but like what all falls under the public works department?

For the City of Havre Public Works Department, you have drinking water, and that's going to be treatment and distribution, which two teams that work on that one.

Sanitary sewer, so that's the collection aspect.

When you flush your toilet, it goes down.

It leaves your house.

It's out of sight, out of mind, and it goes all the way to the north side right there by the Milk River to where it's treated in a bio-nutrient removal process.

We were one of the first in the state of Montana, and that team over there has done exceptional work.

Yes, the 90s and not at my house.

Today, the City of Havre Public Works Director Trevor Mork gives an advisory for construction zones here in Havre and different ways to reduce your overall fire risk.

Please be mindful of construction zones.

As summer tourist traffic keeps on increasing and we're coming up on back to school season, Just be mindful of these construction zones.

Those traffic control devices are there for your safety.

starting monday august 3rd we will continue with residential street sweeping and we do hope to tackle some asphalt maintenance while we're in there while there's no parking zones in place starting in the area of Lyons Park, Eagles Park, over there on the eastern side of the city in that part.

Friendly reminder, we will have those signs put out for the no parking.

Get your vehicles off of the street.

That way we can make this work as successful as possible.

And with that, violators may be towed per City Code 6-7-1.

We do try to make every effort possible to contact those vehicle owners before the tow orders are made.

Today, the City of Havre Public Works Director Trevor Mork and Macy Titkaberg from the Unified Disposal Board give a quick reminder to secure garbage, a look into what the Unified Disposal Board works on, and proper ways to dispose of hazardous materials.

Just want to do a friendly reminder that household garbage must be secured in a bag before being placed in a garbage container, whether that's a 90 gallon rollout or a 300 gallon alley garbage can.

Just make sure we want to keep our community clean.

Wind does blow up here on the high line.

So keep your household garbage secured in a bag.

And if you do want to go on a recycling option, which we do encourage to reduce, reuse, and recycle, in our Haver community for cardboard, take that to Haver Day Activity Center.

And I do want to emphasize, break down your boxes before taking them to any of the locations that they receive their cardboard recycling.

They go to Chinook and take big rental dumpsters to Lake Turner or wherever nearby that's about.

He starts off telling us about the resumption of street sweeping in Haver.

The downtown sweeping will continue next week, Thursday, July 30th, and Friday, July 31st, and then starting Monday, August 3rd, Over by Lyons Park area, from 5th Avenue to 17th Avenue, between 2nd and 8th Street, we will resume the regular residential sweeping.

And while we're there, after the sweeping is done, we wanna come in, the City of Harbor Public Works Department wants to come in and do some paint marking, as well as asphalt maintenance while those streets are clear.

When you see those no parking signs posted, please remove your vehicles from that area.

Violators may be towed per the city code 6-7-1, and we do try to make every effort possible to contact those vehicle owners to get those moved before the tow order is made.

If you do want to check and confirm or update any of the information associated with your vehicle, you can stop by the Haver Police Station or give them a call on the non-emergency dispatch line 406-265-4361.

As well as we do have our crews going out and about still collecting branches for chipping and disposal.

Mark also provides an update for the activities going on with the Have Our Safe Streets for All project.

Today we sat down with Public Works Director for the City of Havre, Trevor Mork, to discuss takedown of political signs throughout the city, continued street maintenance, another upcoming meeting for the Safe Streets for All Committee, and bids for Special District 434.

By the temporary code for, or temporary sign code ordinance 4-6-9 part L that they've Political signs must be removed 10 days after the election or well after that date.

So if you do have a political sign still posted on your private property or commercial property, please have that removed.

Just an update for the community.

Starting Monday, June 29th through Wednesday, July 8th, so about a two-week period, there will be no street sweeping.

That includes the downtown area.

That will resume on Thursday, July 9th.

We utilize publicsurplus.com per Montana Code Annotated 754307.

We were required to publicly auction those items that were purchased through taxpayer or special funds.

Could you dive a bit more into special improvement districts, like what that entails and why the classification is necessary?

Special improvement districts are an instrument of how community members, property owners, or cities can make improvements to systems.

And those systems can be drinking water, stormwater, streets, sidewalks.

There's a long list of items that can be covered under an improvement district.

Public Works Director Trevor Mork visited with new media broadcasters about what residents can do to make sure Haver's sanitary sewer system is working properly.

One of the big don'ts is they call it fog.

Fats, oils, and grease.

You want to wipe it, you want to can it, or you want to trash it.

You don't want to dump it down the drain.

It does impact the sanitary sewer system for all when those fats, oils, and greases do solidify and it

Since we did the more aggressive sweeping with the schedule starting at the beginning of May, we have approximately collected more than 58 tons of soil and debris from the streets, and what that has resulted in is a better way for us to maintain our stormwater health system.

Uh, notably because we have those lines that do collect all that rainwater as stormwater, but that sediment does settle out.

If anyone noticed as we were doing work earlier in May over on the east end of town, there was numerous dump loads of sediment that we pulled out of the stormwater channel as well as the flood control channel.
