So, Treg Taylor, you know, maybe people recognize the name, they know who you are vaguely, but give us a little background about, you know, who you are, where you are, where you came from, and then we'll move on from there.
4:30
Yeah, no, Treg Taylor, I've been married to my wife, Jody, for 27 years together.
4:38
We're raising our six kids as fourth-generation Alaskans, and so...
4:42
We deeply care about some of the issues we're seeing.
4:44
You know, Alaska has been such an amazing place for both of us and opportunities and And we're seeing a lack of opportunities for our kids, and we're seeing an outward migration of Alaskan families.
4:55
And so that's why we got in the race.
4:57
I'm running for governor to make the changes necessary for Alaska to reach its full potential.

32:24
What would you do as governor on that issue?
12:05
What was your reaction? Where were you?
12:07
Yeah, I was at the Alaska State Fair with my family and my kids.
12:10
We were enjoying an evening there, and it was getting closer to the end of the evening, and we were just waiting for the drone show.
12:15
My kids and I really wanted to see the drone show, and all of a sudden I get a text.
12:21
And my daughter, Quincy, had received the news faster than me, so she's running towards me telling me, check your emails, check your emails.
12:28
And so we looked at it and it was a huge relief that this administrative issue had been resolved correctly and that this wasn't going to be the way that candidates are treated into the future.
12:42
And so I think that goes a long way to encouraging good people to run for office, that because of this good resolution that we got out of this administrative issue, others will be encouraged to enter this fray.

And then how did you two meet? Where did that first connection happen? And tell me about the decision to choose Miss English as your governor.
0:23
What really got you involved in running for governor?
0:25
Well, I think it was a unique situation I found myself in here.
0:28
I've been the attorney general for the state for four and a half years, third longest serving attorney general in the state's history.
0:34
I had all this experience about getting things done for Alaska, all these projects that I've been involved in, either on the litigation side or helping them get across the finish line.
0:44
And then being in a unique situation during all four years of the Biden administration, when Alaska was under attack, I mean, 70 executive orders targeting Alaska.
0:53
having been able to defend the state against his executive actions and doing it successfully, and then working with the incoming Trump administration, helping draft his first day executive order, unleashing Alaska's extraordinary resource potential, and then being able to help him implement that.
1:10
So right on the cusp of all these amazing projects with knowledge base, with familiarity with the key players, whether it be the Department of Interior, the Department of Energy, getting things done for Alaska, I was really uniquely positioned to jump in and be able to hit the ground day one running as Alaska's next governor to get these projects done that we've been desperately needing for the last 40 years.
