I'm telling you, Diesel, I, I'm still taking notes by how you're doing stuff.

You've done it such a professional way, uh, professional way.

Your professionalism on the court, off the court, in the business world, man, I'm, I've been taking notes for a long time, man.

You've been doing it the right way.

What, uh, what, what exact...

Who do you think gave you, like, the hardest time playing? Like, who defended you the best? Um, what teams did that, or?

Mm-hmm.

Um, in terms of making plays, being able to, you know, find a way no matter what they're, what defense they're playing.

I've always put m- the accountability on myself to, you know, get open no matter what.

And don't get me wrong, they were, they were doing things that, that minimized everything that I could like, kind of manipulate, but at the same time, I still feel like I had a drop early, I had, uh, two or three routes where I, I didn't get separation when I needed to, and certain, certain moments where I could've sped it up knowing that Pat was under duress for a lot of po- lot of par- lot of points in the game.

So I don't know, man, just, um, just being that and then just keeping the, uh, the energy and the belief alive.

I th- I don't know if I necessarily did that as well as I could have.

And, um, I think just leading up to it, making sure I got everybody's, you know, mentality ready going into the game.

And you see all these young-

Did you ever think about stopping this year? Feels like it wasn't a real convo this year maybe, as opposed to some years past.

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie.

It was, uh, it was pretty short and brief, and, uh, the Chiefs knew where I was the entire time on it.

I think, uh, you always need to take a step back.

You always need to take a step back, breathe, let the emotions of the season settle down, and see where the body is and things like that.

But, um, man, I'm still, I'm still in love with this game.

I still love going to, going to work, putting on the pads, grinding it out, and just, you know, playing the game.

Yeah?

... that is unreal.

It's, it's pretty insane, and I kinda got the first, like, step back, uh, this year when Pat went down and we lost the last however many games, and I got to kinda cope with it in that moment and still be in the building with Coach Reid and the guys that I love and in Kansas City, and, um, try and make it the best scenario possible as the year ended there.

Uh, and then have taken a step back and really, like, looked around and been like: Man, this run has been crazy, and it feels weird not to be doing anything right now.

Like, I was talking to Edelman, uh, the other day when he was doing the other podcast, and he was telling me how he still in, like, January, grows his beard out just because he, like, doesn't know any other way.

And I'm just like: Man, I feel exactly what you're saying.

'Cause especially after a long season like that, and Jason does this almost year-round, but now that he's on TV, so he does it...

He keeps it a little cleaned up.
