Can you elaborate on the types of these formulations for estrogen and for testosterone?
22:28
Sure, sure.
22:29
So in general, we prefer progesterone, which is, it's micronized progesterone, just means it's chopped up into tiny little bits.
22:36
Progesterone is a really large molecule, and so we have to have it in a way that we can absorb it, and typically that is oral.
22:44
There are progesterone-like compounded medications that are applied to the skin.
22:51
This is really not advisable, especially if you have a uterus, because it's not absorbed.
22:57
Progesterone is not absorbed well through the skin, so you can't really rely on it to do its job.
28:02
So how do you start counseling your women in regards to prevention or in regards to just being aware or in just a few visits, how can we help you just get more tools and resources?
1:18
Tell us a little bit about your background and sort of what led you to make this transition, um, and, and sort of take us through that process.
1:27
Uh, my name is, as you said, Dr. Tracy DeSplinter.
1:30
I'm an OBGYN, board-certified.
1:32
I have been out of residency and in practice for 25 years.
1:37
And over the last two or three years, I started having some, um, thought ...
1:44
I, I thought that I would, would retire from my employed generalist OBGYN job.
1:50
I, I loved it for the first 13 years I was there.

13 MINS LATER

14:54
Mm-hmm.
