What role does clean, consistent air play in overall paint performance today?
17:19
Well, you know, some of the things that end up being talked about a lot in either paint company classes or technicians in the field, they worry a lot about the humidity in the airlines.
17:28
And what they completely forget is getting a filtration system that is going to eliminate all of the other contaminants, all the way down to vapor form with oils.
17:38
And when we look at putting a filtration system in, you needed to deliver plenty of air volume to run all of the tools in the shop, but you needed to also give you fine particle separation all the way down to vapor form and to give you clean enough air that you can breathe it.
17:55
And now if I'm using that breathing air quality air that I can use through an air supplied hood, I'm going to have cleaner paint jobs.
18:04
But that also goes... along with what piping do we have in the shop? Do we have black pipe that's been in a shop for 25 years and it's corroded inside to where it can't deliver enough air volume or clean air? There's a lot of incorrectly plumbed shops with too small of airlines and now they literally can't get the air volume they need so they have the pressure set so high that their spray guns can't operate correctly because the air velocity is so fast through the gun that it's blowing, I guess you could just say it's almost blowing holes through the fan pattern and giving you a blotchy appearance because you have such a high velocity.
18:41
So there's so many things that having good compressed air can help with and having plenty of air volume so that you can run all the tools properly and definitely putting in enough air volume into a shop is critical.
