What's been your message that you've been sharing as you've been campaigning about what people should understand about health care?
4:25
Underneath the noise, just look at the math.
4:26
I mean, there's a reason we had over 200 doctors and nurses from the district come out and support us and specifically criticize John McGuire, because there actually isn't any disagreement.
4:36
The healthcare crisis of the last two years is caused by John McGuire and others taking a trillion dollars out of our healthcare system, particularly our rural healthcare system.
4:45
The premiums go up when you have more people who are uninsured Those people end up in the emergency room getting the most expensive care possible, and that bill gets passed on to people like me that have our insurance on the exchange, and my premiums have gone up $400 a month because of that bill.
5:04
Then they took away the tax credit that we put into the Affordable Care Act to help people in the middle class be able to afford that care.
5:10
There's no discussion, actually, about what's causing these prices to go up.
6:39
Help us understand from your perspective why you think these things are not productive in terms of the energy needs in Virginia.
33:17
What is your thought on how to bring that to an end?
33:23
It's a really difficult question because Trump's already lost the war.
33:26
He's lost it multiple times.
33:28
And it is very difficult even for a fully sane leader to accept a loss and focus on how to mitigate damages.
33:40
There was a question of a hypothetical weapon Iran might have, and Trump instead handed them a weapon they didn't have that is far more powerful, which is control over the Straits of Hormuz.
33:53
And Trump can't change the fact that he has given them that power.
33:56
There are countries that I've negotiated with before that are already actively negotiating with Iran.

20 MINS LATER

54:23
home or do you stay over sometimes?
5:42
Is that something that would be I know you have to stand for your principles, but are you you know, what's your thought process and approach when it comes to working with Republicans on trying to deal with these kitchen table issues that you've really are passionate about?
5:56
Well, look, I actually think it's not that hard to be bipartisan or even multi-partisan outside of Washington.
6:02
And I think instead of trying to solve this problem inside Congress, we need to solve it in our communities.
6:07
And when we see a lot of excitement across the aisle for things, we can then bring that common sense back to Washington.
6:16
I think that's what I've seen even as a peace negotiator, as you know.
6:19
I've literally brought sides together that were killing each other and been able to find a path to peace.
6:24
We've got to be able to do it here.
8:41
When you hear something like that in your experience, as much as you prioritize affordability and the different things you've talked about, what goes to what comes to mind?
0:37
So simply put, Tom Perriello, what do you love about America?
0:42
I love this 250th.
0:44
And when we go back to the Declaration of Independence, what's so amazing about it is that the principles, these flawed men, but amazing men, got something so right when they talked about all being created equal and in an inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
1:01
And the reason we know how right these ideas are is that everyone who was excluded from the Declaration said, we want in on this document instead of let's shred this document.
1:13
So the history of America has been having these just perfect principles imperfectly implemented.
1:19
And the arc of our history is all about the true American patriots who've gotten us closer to those original ideals.
1:27
And think about that, 250 years.

5 MINS LATER

How does America get out of this? And if you were an elected official in Congress, what would be your approach into what's going on currently? Well, let's
