And can you explain how the QR codes work for the listeners?

Tom LanglandsGUEST
Well, each of the QR codes is filmed independently and put back to a central computer where it's stored.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
And then when you scan it on the phone, your phone sources that file back on a computer that's actually held in the picture house, and it pulls it to your phone, and that's where you see the live actor.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
So each QR code will source back to a different piece of material, a different actor, a different event.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
So you can go around the town, scan as many of these QR codes as we create, and you will get a different story on your phone for each one.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
And the other beauty is we can change those in the future to anything we want.

So is it intended for the residents of Octorada or tourists? Who do you think the audience will be that would be interested in looking at these QR codes?

think so and at the same time I was attending a writing class, a creative writing class that was run by you and from that came the stands alone open mic nights where people can come along and listen to or recite their own poetry and prose.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
Yeah, we started to take some of the writing group to open mic events in other parts of the country.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
And as we did that, a few of us said, well, why is this not happening in Ochterarder? We have the facilities, the Picturehouse with all its creativity and its different groups.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
So half a dozen of us got together, created Stands Alone, and the open mic nights are now attracting writers and performers from all over Scotland, including... international competition winners.

Tom LanglandsGUEST
We're involved in Crew Music, although we're not directly doing so much there.
