And I'm a little bit more sanguine about the notion of Democrats passing a large spending bill that's not offset for two reasons.

First of all, one of the major talking points Democrats have is that the wealthy are not paying their fair share.

And linked to that is a strong Democratic opposition to the huge Trump tax cuts of 2017 and the most recent ones in the so-called Big Beautiful Bill.

So I think there will be enormous support in the Democratic caucus for tax increases for people at the very top.
