Yeah
9:04
... like I, I always say this to people all the time is like I will use tools like ChatGPT to sense check stuff that I've written sometimes, that kind of thing.
9:14
I think that is just inherently where we are as a society, right? But where I think it get- takes it to an extreme is when you're using it to make artwork, you're using it to make video, you're using it to make imagery.
9:28
Because a lot of the time it has an uncanny effect, and you can tell that it's ripping something else off.
9:32
And with this, it was really obvious because to call it exactly what it was, this was End of Oak Street's version of Dino Tracker.
9:42
So basically what they did was had a series of clips of AI-generated dinosaurs in different environments around the world.
9:50
Now, it's really obvious where that's been taken from, and I think when you contrast the two different things and the two different approaches, there is a world where Warner Brothers could have done that in a much more grounded way that made use of viral marketing techniques without having to lean into cheap AI footage.
10:58
[laughs]
CalebHOST
13:42
great.
13:42
And I think the thing I find really interesting, and obviously, ironically, I'm about to say this, I am very anti-AI.
13:51
I hate when I see AI-generated Facebook images and that kind of thing.
13:56
But I do think in the right circumstances, there is a use case for it.
14:01
And what I think you are seeing is tools like Blender combined with things like AI... helping to level the playing field a little bit so say say for example like if you've got dyslexia and you struggle writing so you've never been able to write a script before suddenly you might be able to put together a first draft of a script and then use an AI tool to polish that in the way that you never have before so I do think there's it's interesting seeing how technology is making the tools of creativity more accessible.
14:33
But then I think on the backside of that, the real fear with that is when that goes too far.
14:38
And then actually, when are you taking out that person's individual input into that process and just making it too much about the tool that's doing the processing?
JackHOST
18:13
You made that point that you could even see... avenues like that being like universal might have their eyes on people like that might have their eyes on on projects like that to be like well what if there's something here what what about we bring these yeah
19:22
The, the dilophosaurus but um yeah i think the most interesting stuff well i i gotta get to the cats i haven't gotten there yet so you've gotten time with the cats but i'm excited to have fun
19:33
with yeah yeah i think you'll have fun with that i think the the thing that i was a little bit underwhelmed by it was the mosasaur and that's not not because of the um skin itself because the skin is really nice i think what underwhelmed me and we'll come on to it a little bit more as we talk about the maps is none of the maps have got a natural lagoon and i just felt like that was a bit of a miss because obviously in the film we only ever see the mosasaur in the ocean so it felt a bit weird having it like contained on the mainland no matter what map you're building on um so i do feel like they could have done something with one of the beaches somewhere and like having a bit of ocean where you could put a natural lagoon but for whatever reason they decided not to do that um and then obviously the raptors like you spoke about i think they look really good it's quite cool that depending on which skin you use so there's the male and the female version um I would say we speculate that this is a female version.
20:36
It's never been confirmed either way that that is what it is, although it is in evolution.
20:43
I think it's just skin A and skin B.
20:45
So I think you can put it on a male and a female.
20:48
And basically, if you put it on the male, it has longer quills.
20:53
So on both of them, it has longer quills that go on the back of the head.

20 MINS LATER

41:12
I think that's pretty interesting.
