How does he go about winning this, given that weight cut?

So for something like that, what does your research entail? Are you looking through YouTube videos and stuff? Or do you perhaps have a huge library

of VHS cassettes with old episodes of 90s kids TV on? I mean, I do collect VHS tapes.

That does help, but a lot of them aren't from the 90s, unfortunately.

A lot of stuff's been uploaded on YouTube, which is very helpful.

There's a lot of stuff missing still.

But no, I mean, obviously watching stuff gives you a certain idea.

What's that all

Do you recall particular road trips you might have done as a family? Any places you were going or maybe kind of holidays or kind of visiting family or stuff that you would do sort of on the regular?

Yeah, so there's a few answers to that.

So growing up, I lived in Marlborough.

And my dad's mom, my grandmother, who is arguably the most important woman in my life, my girlfriend, and my mom probably wouldn't be surprised to hear me say that.

She lived in Winchester.

And that's about a 45 minute drive through some beautiful parts of the country.

And I can remember very, very vividly sitting in the back of an array of my dad's cars, especially the E39s, sort of driving through all these beautiful, this landscape.

but um yeah so you mentioned kind of earlier before i think before we started recording that you were sort of got into some racing as well that's i guess your father's influence if you did some track days with him as well is it

Yeah

... until we published the, the draft.

Of course, you know, really what we did, I worked with, uh, you know, with obviously with Kevin and a couple of lawyers, but based in Europe.

But what we essentially did was take a lot of stuff that was in the Copyright Directive, the European Copyright Di- Directive, and, and tried to translate that into what would be a model version of it in British copyright law.

Mm.

Um, and um, and Chris was like, "Right." And then just walked into the room and basically insisted on per diems for songwriters.

[laughs] And what I would say is with all of these things is like, it's the, the, the...

That was less about-- It's always less about the process and less about governance and about how systems work and...

What's been going on here with him?

Boots basically had an enormous amount of professional fights.

You would actually have to say in obscurity.

I mean, not many people knew who he was until he was 30-odd fights into his career, or certainly e- even, even hardcore fight fans.

Hardcore fight fans would've seen him coming, but, you know, in terms of getting onto the, the world stage or the elite level stage, he's relatively new there.

I mean, even though Xander Zayas is only 23, 23 years old- This represents Boots' biggest challenge, not just Zayas' biggest challenge.

So yeah, he's, he's not had those fights.

Um, they, uh-Just the most, uh, wonderful place.

It was a, it was a small, uh...

It was a small shop that w- well, it started in New York.

Uh, they, they opened up an office here.

I was one of the early joiners.

I think I was joiner number 12 or something, and I really had the most incredible, formative, amazing time.
