One of the messages of this conference really is that none of us are alone.

I think we are not alone in an ultimate sense because of our relationship with our Heavenly Parents and Savior, but we're also not alone in a room such as this with people who share our experiences.

We're also not alone because of the people who've gone before us and blazed paths before us whose experiences may not be exactly the same as our own, but whose lives can give us hope.

I'd like to share a short little video as we begin with one of those heroes to me, Harvey Milk, who was the first out elected official in the United States in 1977.
