Can you talk about that and Where do we go from here to kind of push this along to make sure that it's followed uniformly?
14:48
And you'll probably find this answer at least a little intriguing because I'm not sure Patricia and I even agree necessarily on every aspect of this.
14:57
Speaking for myself only.
14:59
The truth is, as far as like, OK, let's take the example of this retroactive application issue.
15:04
You know, what do we do with the cases that were already pending in the courts when Governor Hobbs signed this law? And the truth is, I didn't think of it.
15:16
I mean, it's really and I think it's important, actually, to to put.
15:21
a human voice on that issue, because I think a lot of people think that whether it's lawyers or doctors or anyone that, you know, we, you know, think of everything and all that, and this should be there.

I was just wondering, for anyone who's listening who needs support with their family court case, moving forward with the Alec and Lydia Act, what would you suggest that they do if they're listening?
25:41
Yeah, you go first.
25:42
Go ahead, Tom.
25:44
Well, it's okay.
25:46
So with coercive control, if you look at the law we have now, you'll notice under subsection M, I think it's M1, people are automatically, I think this is human nature going back to that That silly test they made us take in third grade about paying attention to instructions.
26:09
The one where, you know, the teacher hands you a paper and the very first instruction says, put down your pencil, look ahead and don't even twitch until I give you permission.
26:19
And then all the rest of the page is like, you know, stand on your head, throw a paper airplane at the person next to you, break your pencil in half and you watch all these people.
26:28
And I flunked this test, too.

I was like, yes, that's how it should be.
