And Todd, isn't it true that they're either adding or maybe already did a third track through Altoona so that they can run a second Pennsylvanian?
24:43
Well, they were supposed to.
24:45
There were surveys and stuff done.
24:48
They wanted to do a lot of things in Altoona.
24:51
When Conroe was still here yet, they wanted to run three controlled sidings from Works, which is the west end of Altoona, down to Annas, which is the east end.
25:02
And they want to put them in behind where the old hump yard used to be there at Rose to free up the main lines.
25:09
Because it was like a domino effect in Altoona.

20 MINS LATER

The conductor, as they always say, the conductor's the boss of the train, and the engineer makes it go.
59:26
So if this was really in the 90s, this showcase would run out of videotape is what he's trying to
59:32
tell you.
59:33
Pretty much.
59:34
Yeah, I think we'd do it.
59:37
I like what Jimmy does with his is follow the train around.
59:41
And I may try that this time.
59:45
But, I mean, there's 50 trains to pick from.
61:31
Well,
PatHOST
34:29
Is that a technique that you used to watch? I remember you saying you'd watch your family members working the railroad up in your area.
34:36
Yeah, well, here in Burnham, where they have them, they have a, I forget what they call the car.
34:43
They give it a goofy name, but it's got a big coupler run at the couple to the engine.
34:48
And then they have it weighted heavy.
34:49
And then there's a smaller coupler because the little bucket cars that they have to take the scrap up to the electric furnace to dump it in, they have smaller wheels or a smaller coupler to them.
35:00
And down here in the steel mill here, they have two engines working all day long here.
35:05
And they, they just, they basically have a routine where they, they, they bring the scrap in, they take it to the scrap yard.
PatHOST
37:48
So just try to explain to us what your goals were with that reconstruct on your mill.
41:17
Yeah,
41:17
that's, that's, that's why I just, I did what I did, but, you know, operation wise, it's, it's just going to be a local in, delivering, you know, your scrap and your, and what have you, and your gondolas.
41:31
And then, you know, once that's, they're empty, they'll, the local come in and pick the empties up and bring more loads in.
41:37
That's, that's all I'm going to do with that.
41:39
Cause you don't have enough room, even the size of my layout, as big as it is, I don't have enough room for a giant steel mill to, to shift cars and everything.
41:47
So basically all the equipment it's got to be, there's, you know, the ET engine and there's a couple of PLE engines.
41:54
And of course I got the union railroad stuff there, but,
41:57
Well, one thing to remember, Todd, you know, modern steel mills do a lot of product moves inside of the buildings.
