How do you manage these three parts?
19:53
Yeah, so you...
19:55
I think that people, when they first drive into us, you gotta, first of all, I gotta look at the customer, what we say is a customer journey, right? So when they're in the service drive, they're driving in their car, right? And they're trying not to hit anybody.
20:10
They don't know where they're going.
20:11
It's a foreign space.
20:12
So they're driving cautiously.
20:13
They're looking for some direction.

13 MINS LATER

33:00
Now, each of them means something because you are selling a digital sign and So saying the first, the former, as an engineer, I would be like, that makes more sense because why do I want to tell them something that I don't sell? Or do you take a different perspective and tell them that you're actually interested in keeping their customers engaged and this is one way to do it, sort of to buy their, I don't know, credibility or something of that nature? I mean, do you see a difference between these two approaches, Todd, if at all? And if so, what are your thoughts on that?
13:04
So I always wonder like how much does the actual manufacturer of the vehicles like a Ford or a GMC have say in the whole thing? Or is it just like they get a license? Do you know how that all works?
13:25
Yeah, I mean, we could spend hours just talking about that.
13:28
But in brief, so franchise laws require them to purchase everything at the same price.
13:33
But what they don't do is back-end incentives.
13:36
So if you sell a certain volume or let's say your facility – Looks a certain way as you say you're going to different Ford stores.
13:45
And if you drive by five Ford stores, why do they all look different? Some look newer, some look older.
13:51
So the newer ones might have incentives on the back end for being compliance of the most recent version of what the store looks like.

5 MINS LATER

19:16
It's just that maybe that one will put them over that threshold and will make more money for them in the backend.
1:59
What is it actually like day to day running multiple businesses at once?
2:04
Every day is different.
2:05
So I, I think for me, I have priority in our main business, which is Digital Dealership System.
2:10
That basically pays the bills.
2:12
And then I have offshoots of that where I go ahead and as my mind wanders throughout the day, I'm not one to necessarily scroll on social media or g- go to Facebook on my TV or at my desk or do distracting things.
2:25
Like, I don't know what other people do.
2:26
I just live my life.

56 MINS LATER

58:22
Now, tell us a little about your services and what you provide.
1:07
So can you talk a little bit about that story and what it has to teach us about the best entrepreneurial opportunities and how they actually show?
1:16
Well, for me, opportunities have kind of always presented themselves.
1:20
As you mentioned, I'm a tinkerer, a problem solver.
1:23
And so I was in Nashville in 2006 to 2011 or so, and I had a couple of bars, and then I started some other businesses.
1:33
And one of the businesses that I started when I owned the bars was a digital sign network in bars and restaurants around Nashville.
1:39
Now, this is not the Nashville that people may know today.
1:43
This is 20 years ago, and so very different vibe than it is now today.

6 MINS LATER

7:56
So I want to know the secret.
22:54
Yeah.
22:55
Well, I think some of the things that stand out to me is that when I first started getting into digital science, you had to order a commercial-grade screen.
23:03
They were extremely thick and extremely heavy.
23:06
They weren't available.
23:08
HD screens were not available.
23:09
And the HD back then was 1368 by 768 or 1366 by 768.
23:12
Clarity was crisp.

6 MINS LATER

29:19
Are there any other examples of things like that where you may not be employing that in the car dealership, right? But like it still gets your brain sort of, or your mind like thinking about like, wow, what's possible and how far we've come with, display technology and the ways it's implemented inside, outside, however it may be?
