And Toby, when, when did you first become aware of, of the Caesar Files as they then became known?

known?So when they were first extracted out of Syria and they were, uh, taken out with the assistance of the opposition, I became aware that there had been a meeting in Qatar where a strategy had been developed on how they were actually going to be used.

And, and the initial thought process was there were three former chief prosecutors, former chief prosecutors from international tribunals that were, that were engaged to, to analyze them both forensically and legally.

They were also able to, to interview Farid at that time to just to verify his story.

I was not directly involved in the process at that stage.

The intention was to, to prepare both a legal report and a forensic report that could then be presented to the UN Security Council.

As we know, that wasn't successful, and unfortunately it was never going to be successful in the Security Council, um, on the basis that, uh, there would have been opposition from at least Russia, but probably China as well, on any referral to the International Criminal Court or any action that was taken.
