But could this be the year that the Lions, the regression's real? Is this the time that the loss of Aaron Glenn being in New York now and Ben Johnson being in Chicago and all the injuries finally weighs itself? And could the Lions not be what they once were?

Sure, I could see that.

I mean, you know, if you're going to tell me right now, did they look better than they did last year when they missed the playoffs? No, right? Like, I think that all the questions that were surrounding this Lions team in the offseason, whether it was, you know, a new offensive line, missing, you know, three out of your four starters in the secondary with Kirby and Brian Branch, and obviously moving on from Terry and Arnold, you know, did they do enough? Did they bring in enough talent? And it's not a confident feeling right now to say yes.

They're exactly where they need to be.

Now, I'm not writing them off completely.

It'd be foolish to do that, but they have a lot of work to do, man, and they have a lot of work to do, and they have a lot of internal questions.

Right now, I think more than they have answers is what we're doing on defense the right way.

Like those are the little things that don't, he probably doesn't get enough credit for, but he's just a full package.

The hardest thing, I think, is the preparation, where you try to go off of last year's film, and you try to go off of maybe if, if somebody has a new coach or a coordinator, okay, what did they do a- at their previous team, right? Like, you don't have...

The, the later you get into the season, the more prepared you are, because you have game tape, you have film, you have keys, you have cues.

Okay, when they're running this play, this is what this guy's gonna do.

You c- you, you don't have that week one.

So I think a lot of it is more, uh, you know, who has the better depth? Who has more of a veteran team? Who has more guys that can withstand some of that adversity that you're gonna face early in the season? And to answer your question, I mean, I, I think that, you know, [laughs] just the eye test, and then we're gonna get to the picks later, but, like, I, I think that the Saints would probably have a better chance of coming in, into this state this weekend-

It was just like they looked ill prepared.

And there's been multiple examples.

I mean, the league has been doing it for what, 10 years now, of going overseas.

I don't think there's an exact science of, hey, the team that gets there at this point of the week has more success.

It's weird, like, it changes.

But- DJ ... on a flight that long- 15-hour flight- [laughs] That's crazy ... and you lose, or you gain 17 hours, you may not wanna get there 30 hours before the game.

So it's hard for me to say that he's going to be something.

I think he has a ton of room to grow.

But until you start seeing that growth, how, how, how much longer can we sit here and say, "We hope, we hope this is the game.
