Samantha GilmanHOST
So Tim, what led Carrier Energy to collaborate with EPRI on this, and what questions are you hoping to answer through this demo?

Timothy WattsGUEST
So when we, we set off on this field trial, and it's one of Carrier's, I think if not one of our largest field trials that, that we have performed in certainly in the last number of years.

Timothy WattsGUEST
It really was around getting independent valif- validation of our hypothesis, so we wanted to test will adding battery storage to a heat pump be able to reliably shift load from the grid during peak periods in real homes and under real conditions, like Ron mentioned.

Timothy WattsGUEST
So, you know, when we look for partners with, EPRI was a logical choice, super well recognized across the industry, trusted in all key markets, and, and also, uh, importantly trusted with utilities as well.

Timothy WattsGUEST
I think whenever we mention to anyone, or whenever we mention to any one of our partners or introduce what we're doing and we, we mention that we're doing work with EPRI, it's always really, really well received, so that gives huge credibility towards our results and, uh, and what do- what, what we're doing.

Timothy WattsGUEST
So, you know, this field trial has been, you know, operated across multiple markets, multiple regions, really to sort of test the homeowner experience, the feedback from the u- the way the units can get installed, what the utility value is being derived, some of the challenges that we're seeing from how we can then scale this, and then ultimately it'll be what's the commercial viability of our solution as well.
