But I just think this is the coolest thing because I do think that we have this temptation to just seed, seed, seed, seed, seed when sometimes we don't allow nature to recover because we're not patient, right? So what was the feelings you had reading this?
6:51
Well, it's funny because I did – I did a foraging workshop in Alabama last year, and there was a native expert there named Kyle.
7:04
We were doing a walk, and he was really big on doing controlled burns as a natural way to – to learn how to do it.
7:20
Obviously, you have to be very careful and do it at the right time, but it's a great way to do land management.
7:26
And the biggest takeaway, Jessica, was he said that when you do a control burn, you bring in more light so that So that smaller plants have a better chance to grow.
7:39
But what he said was it exposes a seed bank that's already there.
7:44
So he said, the goal is not to plant new things.

35:58
And I was like, what the hell does that mean? What does that mean?
34:16
Is that for some people? Was there that moment for you in your journey where it was like, hey, this is a pretty significant moment and I felt it and realized it? Yeah, for
34:27
sure.
34:28
So when I first started, I was with Mediavine because at the time I think I had 20,000 page views.
34:37
And then I always, whenever I go to a food blog, I always scroll down to the very bottom because it'll say a Raptive partner.
34:46
And because I love attention to details.
34:48
I love the details.
34:49
And so I was always just like drooling over being a Raptive blogger.

50:27
What was that like for you to transition as a creator to be video forward? It was a booger.
5:11
Are you in the city? What's it like? Yeah.
5:15
So I'm in New Orleans.
5:17
I'm close to City Park, if anyone's been to the city.
5:21
And we're subtropical.
5:23
So I'm zone 9B here.
5:25
And so we do get... usually one freeze a year which you know as you know will set things back but I actually appreciate a good freeze I kind of find it like a hard reset but the point I'm making is that it's subtropical I have banana trees I have passionflower vines and I have right now I have a ton of okra and eggplant and so and then of course I have a huge pollinator garden I love I love collecting native wildflowers and host plants for butterflies.
6:01
So my home and my front garden and back garden definitely stick out on the block.

12 MINS LATER

18:01
Yes.
7:46
We would love to hear more about your first exposure to Tori Amos.
7:51
Well, I was around 11.
7:53
I was in seventh grade and I have an older sister, Sarah, who is two years older than me.
8:00
And I think the first song I heard was Corn Flake Girl.
8:04
And then I think the other song I heard was Crucify.
8:08
And I remember so vividly one night, I like, you know, was like peeking into a room and her friend, her friend and her were hanging out and they had the winter single of Tori on the white horse.
8:20
Is that correct? Was it the winter single? Yeah, correct.

19 MINS LATER

26:57
it
