I, I played with my friends, and so I was mad at my mom for setting up a play date.

So Jay came over to my house, and he didn't know how to play right.

I had little games I liked to play with, my G.I. Joes and my Mego action figures and my, my Evil Knievel wind-up toy that you could make jump over things, and Jay wasn't into that, and then he didn't wanna watch any of the TV shows I wanted to watch.

So then we weren't friends.

And then a couple years later, I bought an acoustic guitar from him in order, 'cause I was gonna learn how to play guitar, which then I didn't do, or rather I failed to do.

Yeah, it began in 2000.

Basically, like I said, Too Much Joy had been slowing down, and we'd both sort of been so disillusioned with the music business by 99.

Neither of us really wanted to write or record anymore.

But we'd moved from New York.

He was living down in L.A., and I was living here in Oakland, where I live now.

And I called him up one day.

And it's like, well, yeah, but anyway.

... what made the difference there? Because there's a ton of other companies out there you could have chosen.

Yeah.

There are.

And so the one thing, and maybe this is a learning lesson for everyone, is that, look, anyone can spin up any type of app today.

It's really easy to do, it's really cheap to do, and you can do it very quickly.

The challenge is, is it gonna scale? Is it gonna be compliant with fair housing? Is it gonna be compliant with state and local rules, broker rules, right? Are you gonna be able to support it as things are moving as quickly as they can? And so when we looked at either AI horizontal tech or AI tech that had been built for real estate, none of it really had the rigor from a scale perspective and from a compliance perspective.

And we're like, if you're gonna be chatting with some type of machine, you need to know that you're gonna get answers back that are actually compliant for what you might do.

Because it's like, there's no quick fix when it comes to compliance.
