Muth says it's part of a larger plan by the Trump administration that started in his first term but has rapidly picked up steam in his second term.

I mean, it goes all the way back to what we called Muslim Ban 1.0 on the first day of the first Trump administration when it instituted a travel ban on people from several Muslim majority countries.

And it is part of an ongoing line of actions the administration has tried over the years to limit migration, especially from Muslim and third world countries.

Immigration courts are actually part of the Justice Department.
