It took
11:05
me weeks to get to 10.
11:07
But once I got to 10, I started realizing that my emotions weren't rising up and I was much more calm and rational.
11:15
And when I'm rational, the one thing that I know is that whatever actions I'm used to taking in life, if I can do something different, I'm going to get a different result.
11:28
You know, kind of Einstein's definition of insanity, right? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
11:34
So I just looked at it like, okay, well, I don't know what the result's going to be.
11:39
But if I do something different, I know it's probably going to be a different result than what I'm used to having.
ValeriaHOST
13:56
So for those who don't know you, I would love for you to share the backstory of your book, the inspiration, and for you to be doing these podcast interviews.
7:46
And I started thinking to myself, you know, because I don't think my wife took this like she took the other stuff.
7:52
She was like much more calm about it than I was.
7:55
At least that's how she presented herself.
7:57
But I just finally had a talk with myself.
8:01
And I know most you probably understand this and most of your listeners do, too.
8:06
Like, you know, I always say I got voices in my head and I do.

11 MINS LATER

19:06
And I'm pretty sure it's not 24-7, I would imagine, right? Walk me through a day that's not so great and what you do to bring yourself out of it as you continue to process all of this.
47:01
I can't believe we have to ask.
47:01
I've got, I've got, I've got rings.
47:02
I, rings, rings are like, it's too early to talk about exes, guys.
MikeyHOST
47:19
What's going on with, uh, with Tim?
47:20
Well, you can see me on the new season of Married at First Sight.
47:22
I think it's coming out next year.
39:38
He
39:39
got that.
39:40
And then at the end of the segment, Erwin just comes up to us and taps us on the shoulder and goes, by the way, someone grabbed that snake here.
39:45
And we're like, I don't know, I assume so.
39:48
Are you kidding me? One of the real housewives has got a new handbag, I think.
40:55
not going to get to that.
40:56
We'll get to Australian, the summer of cricket, which began in winter.
41:01
We'll chat about that.
68:11
... flying right.
68:12
Some interesting touches as well, obviously, with the wildlife warrior.
68:15
Uh, nice touch, he was desexing the maths contestants halfway through, which was a nice touch.
69:54
Indeed
69:54
... hey, talk about a wild after party for Pang.
69:55
Uh, uh, he- he's been going on for the last couple of days.
69:58
We heard this on the news, uh, this morning.
1:29
Mm.
1:29
And I believe he's sitting on the have you been paying attention table, as he should.
1:34
Uh, but he goes, "Oh, but don't worry.
1:35
When Front Bar's nominated, I'll come over and sit in."

5 MINS LATER

6:40
Yes.
6:40
The reserve drivers, you must have a low...
6:43
Which is your podcast, by the way.
6:44
Terrific.
7:07
You then end up exploring treatment options that didn't seem to be the obvious choice.
7:14
Yeah, well, I did do all the standard stuff.
7:17
It was all new to me.
7:18
I didn't have a family history of cancer.
7:20
I didn't really have any close friends that were impacted by cancer.
7:23
So this was all like brand new and it was during COVID.
7:27
So it was like, I didn't have like, I mean, I could talk to people online.

11 MINS LATER

18:51
I see this across a lot of cancer types, partly in the metastatic setting, right? Almost regardless of whether it's breast or colorectal or lung, it's the presence of a survivor, driver, someone who has kind of beaten the odds and access to them tends to be the anchor, right? Where the, it's almost like I have an example that I can model after, but there is something below that though, right? There is this, you're modeling after it, but there's also this capture of control, for lack of a better word, around driving the treatment decision?
1:49
[laughs] Okay.
1:50
But I do wanna set the stage that I am a happily married guy to my wife of over 20 years now.
1:59
Our kids are all grown.
2:01
I'm now a pop-pop with two grandkids.
2:03
And the pandemic hit in 2020, which I think is something everything, everybody on this planet can relate to.
2:11
One of the rare times I think that we could all, like, come together around something [laughs] or understand what we were all going through, even though we looked at it differently.
2:19
But in November that year, or leading up to November that year, I started experiencing some symptoms, just not knowing what it was.
5:52
Mm.
3:01
You were formerly director of Crumbin Clinic, so you've had a leadership role, which we're going to be drawing out some of that because we want to draw on a leader's perspective of managing neurodiversity and ADHD, isn't it?
3:11
Oh, sure, yeah.
3:12
I'll, I'll speak generally as well as, uh, about Crumbin Clinic, which is a great place to work.
3:17
Um, so I was a director there for the last three years almost, and I learnt so much in that, that time.
3:25
Um, I, I was there for twelve years.
3:27
Best job I've, I've ever had.
3:29
Now I'm semi-retired.
5:01
One thing we didn't cover off is potentially a link towards that and, and road traffic or other, uh, incidents as well.
speaker_9HOST
25:00
[laughs]
25:00
... that Clint may have ended the, the network.
25:03
Um, but it's not so much for what I think.
25:05
Clint, how did, how do you think you went? In all honesty, how, how do you think you went yesterday?
speaker_9HOST
26:05
Yes.
26:05
So it was a l- it was a little bit different to that.
26:07
Um, but interestingly, I think you did a pretty good job, and the bosses at Channel 10 actually want to sound you out for some other Channel 10 shows, if you're interested.
speaker_30UNKNOWN
63:16
... hold that thought.
63:16
Because speaking of the president, I, I like, I like Trump, but it's his team.
63:21
His team are also just as weird and just as crazy, and this next story might be my favorite story of the year.
speaker_30UNKNOWN
67:05
Got that little air freshener up the front working hard.
67:07
It's working hard, but it can't do that.
67:09
The article genuinely concludes with the line, "So far, the results of Kennedy's rigorous whale head and raccoon penis studies have not been publicly disclosed."
