What's the number one sort of most important story for the last year in your mind in the EV
1:11
market? I mean, I think the most important, you know, you kind of can't talk about it without talking about the pullback and the slowdown in sales and all of that.
1:22
And you do have OEMs that have thrown in the towel, some that have really scaled back their efforts.
1:28
But I think the thing that doesn't get as much attention, especially from people who aren't maybe close to this industry, is just how far the technology itself has come.
1:38
There's a really weird disconnect right now, which is that it's been a bad year for EV sales.
1:44
It's been a gloomy year for the industry in a lot of ways.
1:48
But at the same time, like the technology and the models on offer are just so much better than they were last year, the year before that.

5 MINS LATER

And then all the new Toyota listing, you know, offerings, like it's incredible lineups and the dealers are just like, they are supply constrained is where they're all at that I've talked to.
7:48
What do you think has the best value? Because you know what? In this economy, we gotta be looking at value.
7:55
Um, it's a great question.
7:56
I think there are more than ever to choose from.
7:59
Like, I think five years ago, the answer would've been obvious, right? It would just be like, "Okay, go buy a Model 3." Like, it'll have over 300 miles of range and, and it doesn't cost too, too much.
8:09
The one that springs to mind is one that I drove recently.
8:12
Uh, I drove the Kia EV3, their new, like, small electric crossover, starts at $30,000.
8:21
I think that's not the one that is the best bang for buck.
10:56
... desirability?
