What assumptions are we getting wrong when we think about travel and living abroad and how our finances can play a part in all of that?

Yeah, well, first of all, thanks for having me on.

It's good to talk with you.

So I think...

Americans, especially who have not traveled abroad at all, tend to look at everything through an American lens and they think healthcare is expensive everywhere.

They think going out to eat is expensive everywhere.

But really when you start traveling around the world, you realize that The U.S. is one of the most expensive places in the world.

So how do we find that balance between those three, wallet, head, and heart?

But for the folks who may have not seen Nomadico or may not know your blog or may not know your books, I want to kind of give them that in and that introduction to some of these things.

Yeah, sure.

It's funny.

This just happened to my sister-in-law where she somebody got her card info online somehow she still had the card with her her credit card and she had one MasterCard and one American Express the MasterCard was the one that got compromised and she was on the island of Cyprus and nobody takes American Express there apparently and so she was pretty much stuck waiting for a new card to arrive so I always tell people have multiple credit cards with you if you're a couple you know have two or three each preferably and the same with debit cards like um You say, oh, I've got one checking account.

I'm going to have one debit card.

But same thing.

What if it gets eaten by the machine or you make a mistake and leave it in there or it gets lost or stolen? So it's always good to have backups.

And did it immediately then turn into what it is now? Or how did that path look after you made those decisions or came to that conclusion?
