But, you know, those shots where you're, pretending that it's a security system type setup, does that add a level of complexity as far as like pre-planning and going on set?
29:43
It does.
29:44
And I think, well, at least what you got me thinking about, so I think I'll respond this way.
29:51
We had to do a decent amount of discussing in pre-production about... how any ways any ways that we can kind of like work around these pretty set parameters can find these limitations that Caleb's movie has for his documentary because it's just him shooting it.
30:11
So he just only so he just has one or two cameras.
30:14
You know, he uses two cameras during the interview.
30:18
So working with those limitations, Yeah, actually, I'm sorry.

Like, is that you just have musician buddies, and they linked up, and they happened to, act two or where did you guys kind of create that band from?

I guess my question is, since you're a horror fan, since you have a lot of horror scripts, and since you've made a drama film prior to this do you have any challenges that emerged while working in found footage it's a very unique sub-genre was there anything specifically challenging
14:44
i uh um she's challenging uh i i'm going to answer it in a different way i should answer i should answer on what the challenges are but instead i'm going to respond by Offering that, you know, I didn't go to film school.
15:04
I think I would have gone to film school.
15:06
I finished college in the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
15:10
So UNL, I'm a Husker.
15:16
At the time, they have a pretty strong film school there now.
15:20
It's the Johnny Carson building they built.

39:14
Like, do you find it harder or easier?
39:18
Uh, it is, it's a little, it's a, it's not my wheelhouse.
39:22
So it's not, it's not easy.
39:24
Uh, the what's, uh, what's trickiest for me is, uh, in this seems kind of like, this sounds like this, not like this doesn't sound very tricky.
39:35
It doesn't sound very difficult, but it is, this is a little difficult for me when I'm working on score is that, uh, i'm so used to when i'm writing a song it's the only thing i'm not ex i'm not expecting i'm not anticipating people to be watching some kind of scene or i don't write songs to be um second fiddle to something else i write songs to be this is the dynamic thing you're focusing on right now and i'm in and also you're probably going to be ideally you'll be seeing it performed live as well Sure.
40:04
And so that's how I think of music.
40:06
That's just and it's been decades now that that's the way I work on music.

She does like... deathcore hip-hop like it's kind of the best way to explain it very very feminine rage um there's a new track called rotten which is uh great uh really really great and she's very much an indie artist um so look out for her stuff um on your streamers and that'd be what i have so tim what do you have to recommend
9:18
Was there any inspiration for this particular story and the character of Caleb? Yeah, I
9:25
mean, just like different stuff.
9:27
The the real root of the story of how it came together, I tend to say it's more technical, technically based.
9:36
I was initially interested in working with different perspectives with the camera and kind of playing around with that, playing around with ideas that we liked to call meta, you know, breaking forth walls, those types of things, the stuff I actually I've been doing in music for a lot of years as well.
9:58
just stuff that kind of fascinates me uh so that was so it's really kind of more of technical ideas that where i started with the script but uh but it but then it uh you know started growing out to this weird guy you know that i was that we had as far as caleb being the stalker uh And there's there's touchstones.
10:24
I think that that movie Peeping Tom is really cool.
10:27
The old Michael Powell film from 1960.
