But when I talk to folks, like, I think the biggest problem that you have in it is that no one ever gets it, the pie thrown back in their face, right? Like, it's not like, it's not you come in and you spend $4 million more than your opponent and lose, like, ever, right? [laughs] Like, I don't know, maybe, like, the Tom Steyer out in California might be an example of that, where, like, not enough money in the world was gonna save that primary, um, effort, right? When he was running for governor, the billionaire out there, and every once in a while you get that sort of a thing that happens.

But for the most part, people who spend more money, [laughs] all, you know, end up walking away with the prize, and I think that's the, that is the impossible, impossible task of deciding how to spend cash, is once you've got it...

And there's no-- The other thing too, Jack, is, like, what else, what else are you gonna do? Like, there's only so many town halls you can have.

... uh, yeah, I think, I mean, that all aside, you know, uh, obviously Denise Powell, and that race going on in Omaha is a very interesting one, and we've been talking for, you know, 18 months about how, um, CD2 would be potentially a blue dot going back to the Democrats for, um, the House makeup.
T
3:55Tim HruzaGUEST
But I don't think anybody thought that things would feel as close as they do when it comes to some of the Republican statewide races that we've got going on, Jack, and I think that's what you see a little bit with, you know, with the president coming into Nebraska to, to stump for Republican candidates, right? Not only Pete Ricketts, in his contest against independent or Democrat Dan, um, whichever, whichever you believe, I guess, uh, Dan Osborne, uh, here.
T
4:24Tim HruzaGUEST
And then you've also got, too, I mean, headlines for the last several weeks are that the Walz-Pillen contest is closer than anybody would've guessed it was this time last year.
T
4:34Tim HruzaGUEST
In terms of, like, what to make of it, I think there's a couple of things, and, you know, rewind to, what, a week and a half ago, 10 days ago.
T
4:41Tim HruzaGUEST
Um, Senator Kennedy was in town for, uh, the steak fry thing for Ricketts, and even, even he was like, you know, in a, in an advance, [laughs] in advance of that weekend, was telling reporters, "Yeah, I never thought I'd be going to Kansas, and Nebraska, and Iowa." [laughs] Like, figured we'd be going to some other stops to stump for candidates.

So I mean, I think from, like, what do you make of it? It is very clear over the last couple of weeks that things feel like they're tighter than maybe anybody thought they would be.
