And so that's also part of the metaphor, is that in society, when you move fast, you slow people down.

So maybe an even better example is high-speed rail being introduced in American cities, or highways being introduced in American cities in the 50s and 60s, often meant that neighborhoods, which were often black neighborhoods... were cut off from each other.

And these highways would connect areas of relative wealth at the same time as houses were being demolished, were predominantly lower class, poorer people, predominantly people of color in American cities, very famously like in Chicago, where they deliberately avoided the mayor's house and a very wealthy white area and dissected black areas, which not only Black people couldn't use as much, but also the actual road itself was a barrier.
