There's going to be games out there for the kids.

There's going to be free food, and they're going to have two former great...

But they asked him after the game when he flew into the dugout, they said, hey, you want to take some x-rays? And he goes, and his response, x-ray what? Right.

Would you say that's fair?

It's just how this team feels or does it feel like that or do they feel like Dodgers?

They feel like Dodgers, and it's not the Dodgers of the 80s and 90s.

This isn't Garvey, Say, Lopes, and that whole group of the 70s and early 80s.

This is certainly a different era of baseball.

We all know that.

Right, it goes into a big

pot amongst those teams that go over it.

And at this point, there's a handful of them.

And out of that, it's then divvied up amongst all the other teams to try to level the field, which it's done a really good job at.

If you're the Pirates or you're the Brewers or the Seattle Mariners, these teams, the Diamondbacks, you get a check tax-free in your pocket ownership to then go out and better your team and to try to catch up to the Dodgers and the Mets and the Yankees and the Cubs.

It's their choice not to do it.

And again, the Tigers held the entire league at their disposable to make this trade.

How serious is that because of this issue?

I would say that you probably know more about sports than almost anybody in this building.

I would disagree.

There's a lot of people that know way more sports than I do.

And those guys last night, they looked flat, Katie.

And there's no excuse for the way they came out last night.

You cannot lose that game at all.

You have all the momentum in the world in this world series, and you've got a unicorn on the mound and you let six innings of okay, ball go to waste.

And he kept you in the game.

were talking about this morning and steve sacks who obviously played a long time said if you lose that game last night it's a gut punch that he doesn't think the blue jays recover from that if you win the game the adrenaline kicks in and you're like okay we survived yeah we had the advantage you lose that game and you lose george springer one of your two best players and you're in that blue jays locker room you're like man we're we're done we're on our last air here we can't do this

And the whole team kind of rose to that level of freaking superhero with that kind of grit.

What's the greatest thing about baseball is the little plays that happen and the ball that's hit.

down the right field line, and it takes two throws to get to home to Will Smith to get Schneider out at home.

I mean, that's one bad throw, a throw from Teoscar that's a little offline.

Edmonds doesn't make that catch and doesn't make a strike to home plate to get Schneider.

And we're probably talking about a Dodger loss and then being down 2-1.

They were so good.

They did in the seventh inning when Will Smith hit that home run in game two.

Right.

That's when they finally sat down.

Finally.

That crowd was electric.

Even David Vasse was texting during the game.

Um, but, uh, is he gonna be on the roster for the World Series?

We haven't seen him, though, since the NLDS, which was two series ago, against the, uh, then Philadelphia Phillies.

And he was out there kind of in, well, mop-up time to kind of get hit around a little bit because the Dodgers had blown a lead.

Uh, we did not see him last round against the Milwaukee Brewers, but I got a feeling at some point we'll see him, Conway, whether it's a blowout situation or it's a high-leverage situation.

We gotta see number 22 on the mound at least one more time.

Give us a positive feeling before he goes into retirement.

Yeah, 22 years old, the second youngest starting pitcher in a World Series game.

Ralph Brank, I believe, in 1940-something for the Dodgers.

It was the last time we had a pitcher this young.

I mean, you mentioned it.

He was started the season in a ball Dunning, Florida.

Vlad Guerrero, I think, is one of the guys that would scare, should scare Dodgers fans because that guy can get hot and he hits balls really hard.

It was the 80s, right? They never

went to the World Series in the 80s.

It was the late 90s.

Look at the ties that you have in this series.

Teoscar Hernandez played for the Blue Jays going back home.

Shohei Otani was thought to be on a plane going to Toronto, signing with the Blue Jays.

Now he's going to be back there.

He starts going to different fields around the valley here to play shortstop.

Yeah, he was working with some of the Dodgers infield coaches and guys who are around the clubhouse in the offseason.

They were out of Sierra Canyon High School.

They were out like three different high schools here in the Valley, wherever they can get field time.

And they were just working on ground balls, working on different scenarios, different plays for, you know, glove hand, back hands, different things every single day because he wanted to get better.

I think part of it is he heard the comments last year.

The problem I have is the Dodgers are going to Philadelphia, and the bank, as they call it, Citizens Bank Park, is one of the toughest places to play.
