What is an advertising cadet?

I think I was the first and only ever advertising cadet.

This wasn't a long line of cadetships, but it was basically a way to give a break to a high school kid who was in a family situation where he couldn't afford to go to college.

Mum had said, look, you need to go to work for a few years.

That's what the family needs.

So I was working in a supermarket after school.

I thought the girl who worked in the deli was kind of cute.

I do want to hear that.
