With us today is Tom Osa, who runs the Rockland County News, and, uh, you have some big news for us this, uh, morning, on Sunday morning, uh, Tom?
1:33
Yes, John, thanks for having me on again.
1:35
Uh, Rockland News is calling for a debate between Bill Weber and Joe Rand for Senate District 38.
1:44
Now, around this time, John, it's part of the public process to see the challenger and the incumbents for each public office to be able to get together and cordially discuss the issues, and hopefully the public can hash out, uh, who is the better candidate in order to achieve said public office.
2:02
Now, we reached out to both of the candidates, and, uh, one of them has said, "Yeah, let's go." And the other one has been...
2:09
Well, have you ever seen that Bugs Bunny thing, uh, you know, Duck Dodgers and the twenty-fourth and a half century? I feel there was a bit of dodging from the other end.
2:17
We're not saying-
2:38
Yes.
0:20
And Tom is going to talk to us about the Battle of Stony Point, which is a historical moment in the war.
0:30
Thanks, John, for having me on.
0:32
Well, the Battle of Stony Point, and it's located in Rockland County, New York.
0:36
It was a decisive American victory during the American Revolutionary War.
0:40
It was on July 16th in 1779.
0:43
So if we could get some context here, this was a few years, obviously, after the Declaration of Independence and the battle to maintain American independence, being able to guide our own lives and be able to live free lives from outside influences.
1:02
That was the whole idea.
3:50
It's just amazing.

That was the whole idea.
4:09
It's just amazing.
1:02
foreclosure? What was it? What happened?
1:05
Yeah, so D.D. Palisades Holdings, they ultimately obtained the note from the previous holders of the property, Wilmington Trust.
1:18
And apparently the previous management, they were essentially defaulting on the debt for years and years.
1:26
This had been going on through the court system all the way through COVID.
1:29
And essentially, Wilmington Trust, they handed over the note to B.D. Palisades Holdings, otherwise known as Black Diamond Capital Management.
1:38
And they essentially, and they had been filing grievances with the town of Clarkstown for overtaxation.
1:45
They ultimately settled on the value of the property at approximately $300 million.
2:10
Now, what else is going on? Is business good up in Rockland County? What is going on?
