So imagine if you have had a blood pressure of 150 over 90 for a couple years, then there is als- already changes in your vasculature, and it has been shown that if you lower blood pressure too low in these people, that there may be actually untoward effects, the so-called J curve.

That, uh, means that the optimal blood pressure is then rather in the range of 120 to 130 over 80.

And so currently the guidelines of the Americans, uh, are a bit stricter than the ones on the, um, of the, uh, uh, um, Europeans.
