And so we'd like for you to share your unique story of how you came to work in local government.
0:42
Yeah, sure.
0:43
Thanks.
0:44
So my story in local government, it started out with, you know, I would say probably like some in an altruistic kind of aspiration.
0:53
I was a film graduate in 2007 from the Art Institute of California, right here in California, in Santa Monica.
1:02
And I created a film company so that I could work on feature films and documentaries.
1:08
I bounced around Hollywood for a while, working on various productions and sets and in post-production and reality TV.

But have you ever had that day where something happened in the city unexpectedly and they're like, can you help us in this mess? And you had to work through, be a communicator, be positive, help to turn around type situation.
17:19
What would you say was the hardest part to get right? And did the data from Clarity 2030 reflect the same friction points that you encountered?
17:28
That's really interesting.
17:29
It was interesting to us because we're a comms agency and we advise.
17:34
So we have to try and practice what we preach for sure.
17:37
The interesting thing for us is that we're not a function within an organization that doesn't do communication.
17:41
So there's a slight difference there.
17:43
But I will say, of course, from a communication perspective, there are so many things to think about.
22:14
For a listener, a marketer perhaps, who's allocating budget across paid, owned, and earned, what does that finding mean, practically speaking?
20:26
Take it away.
20:27
I think you point out the contradictions and the tensions we saw in those findings.
20:33
I think the big piece that we're seeing right now is that the CMO is extremely focused on discovery, visibility, and visibility of the brand, right? Is the brand showing up in the LLMs? The larger issue, what is concerning tucked away in that data is less than half are concerned that the AI is misinterpreting their brands.
20:54
So we have this on the ground with our clients, right? Everyone's focused on, am I being found? Am I being found? It's critical to my business, of course.
21:01
but am I being understood or perceived in the right way? And they're not paying attention to that.
21:05
And that's another reputational issue that is very concerning.
21:08
So from that perspective, I feel it's not, again, it's not about who owns what, it's about co-ownership.

That I think is the message that we want to get the marketers to embrace because we can be helpful.
