The Thing

Tonight, I am coming at you with the prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 classic.

And this is 2011's The Thing.

We found something quite remarkable.

This thing has replicated a person.

You guys know who I'm talking about.

But anyway.

The thing.

A lot of people.

There's a handful of people who still do it, but a lot of it unfortunately gets augmented later in post because they'll put CGI over it.

Like, I think in like The Thing remake, like it was practical but then they put CGI over it, which made it even worse, which is unfortunate.

But this one is like what you see is what you get, and it's so fucking cool.

It's great.

the, so, like, that, that's the way, that's what I got from everything you just told me, and that's really heartbreaking.

It's so heartbreaking.

[laughs] I, like, I think, I mean, that's one of the things I really love about a lot of the universal classics is, like, that and then, like, Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Like, the, the, the, the monsters are not the monsters, you know? The, the humans are the monsters in, in a lot of these movies, and they're just trying to exist and just figure out their place in, in the world.

There's a lot of Evil Dead II homage in-

Yeah, like going down to the cellar and pulling out the thing that like-

Yeah

... summons the dead is like literally from Evil Dead.

Okay.

My number four is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, more so for, like, the i- iconic, like, different ...

She was in the remake of The Thing, whether you like it or not.

Terrible.
