So I don't wanna blame the industry for my decisions, but I can't, I couldn't for me go from being a Temptations, you know, Emperor of Soul, Eddie Kendricks, you know, the, the model of, of, of artistry, to some other roles that I was being, you know, asked to, to play.

I, I wanted to make a decision about who I was and what my art was gonna be about.

So I think when I say nothing really happened, combination of nothing really, no choices, not a lot of choices, but also a really turning point within me to say, "Well, who are you? What do you wanna t- what do you wanna create?" You can wait for a job, and you can wait for somebody to define you, and I, you know, spent some years, Steve, like, asking myself questions of what do I wanna put out in the world after I had done this great huge thing that I still get recognized to this day almost every day of my life.

And that was another thing.
