Tom GoodfellowHOST
Let's turn now to you, Temi, to tell us a bit about your background and the projects in Lagos.

Um, so in Lagos we're working, uh, with colleagues at the Center for Housing and Sustainable Development, um, at the University of Lagos, but, um, also with, um, communities, um, to advance ACRC, um, goals.
T
12:29Temilade SesanGUEST
So we've been working, uh, we've been like a loose network almost of, um, urban researchers, urban practitioners, urban sort of reformists, even though we didn't necessarily use that term.
T
12:39Temilade SesanGUEST
Um, but ACRC was a chance to sort of, um, coalise around, um, the issues that we'd always been, um, working on separately.
T
12:47Temilade SesanGUEST
Um, and so at the moment, we have three projects, three AR projects running, um, inspired by the litany of projects, uh, in, in Nairobi.
T
12:58Temilade SesanGUEST
Um, we have one on, on wash, that's water and sanitation, um, in an informal settlement, um, in, in the heart of the city.

What made Okerewe such an important site for the ACRC project, and what does its story reveal about urban inequality in Lagos?
T
2:36Temilade SesanGUEST
And thank you, um, again for having me on this really important conversation.
T
2:39Temilade SesanGUEST
So, um, ACRC really is all about demonstrating, um, through what we call exemplar projects, um, how, how communities that have been, um, historically, um, overlooked in urban development can really lead the way in helping us to, um, rethink and reimagine what a good African city should look like.
T
3:03Temilade SesanGUEST
You know, what, what is our definition of a good city, a good society? Um, hint, the answer, um, really is, uh, you know, a city that carries everyone along in development and leaves no one behind.

Uh, and still on the issue of, uh, gender, uh, Dr. Temilade, from your own research lens, uh, how do you see gender shaping the outcome of this, um, particular project?
