So maybe just tell me like your mentality around like being on the ground, being fine, being hustling, maybe putting yourself out there.
7:23
Yeah.
7:24
Well, I usually tell people the reason we're around today is because we were 19 years old when we started the app.
7:29
And that was really important.
7:30
18 when we started building and 19 when we dropped out.
7:33
And what came with that was this ability in my shoes to go to campuses and really be one with the students.
7:39
Because I was 19 years old.

I guess I want to hear a little bit more about your international plans and to what extent you can share.
0:54
Can you walk us through this pivotal moment that you decided, you know what, I'm going to be a dropout and found a social networking platform?
1:03
Totally.
1:03
So this is definitely not what I was trying to do with my life.
1:06
I was a senior in high school when the pandemic hit and got into Stanford, committed to go there.
1:13
I was super hyped to get to campus.
1:16
And then they were like, you can't actually come to campus for your freshman year.
1:19
You're going to be online.

15:57
If you can share with us, how was the move and what led you to make this decision?
1:56
And so I really wanted to ask you, what broke in the world of social media that so many people are looking for change?
2:02
Yeah.
2:03
So I think social media, kinda mainly being, like, TikTok and Instagram, has completely moved over to being these pure entertainment platforms, where it's 1% of your life.
2:14
It's a highlight reel.
2:15
It doesn't actually represent the true things that happen in your life, the real moments, the authentic moments.
2:21
And what we saw when we originally started building Fizz was it was 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, and I had just arrived at Stanford.
2:29
We were on Instagram, where people were posting the 1% of your lives, but very quickly it was moving away from being about your friends and moving towards being about, uh, just pure entertainment.

students. What would you say is the biggest learning lesson you've had over the past few years building this product? Both something maybe you learned about the company and also yourself?
