And I see Newsom as somebody caught between Andrew Cuomo and Mamdani, you know?

Well, he's also actively opposing the billionaire tax initiative and, you know, uh, which Bernie and Ro Khanna and company are, are s- strongly supporting.

So, you know, uh, that, that's something that Mamdani clearly succeeded with his tax the rich, uh, the, the slogan that was used at his rallies and so on.

So it, you know, I do, I agree that he m-made, it, it was a major breakthrough that socialism is now part of...

Democratic socialism is part of the conversation here in New York and, and increasingly other places across the United States.

And, you know, that, that w- uh, shattered the whole Cold w- Cold War dialogue that's lingered into the 21st century here and, and it seemed like it wasn't gonna, uh, bud or wasn't, there was no way it was gonna thaw, but [chuckles] they finally broke it open, so that, that's a, a, a big deal.

But again, again, it also circles back to what I was saying earlier, which is that, you know, how much can he actually initiate in terms of redistribution of wealth as the mayor? You know, he can use his bully pulpit, which he does quite effectively, and he's done that thr- starting with the campaign, and now while he's in office.

I'm saying the country is in crisis, and I wonder, wonder whether this person who maybe, uh, not only maybe, unquestionably in an earlier period would've been marginalized and defeated, is now what it, the country feels it needs.
