I would interpret that as quality is more valuable than quantity.

That doesn't mean that fewer or better or that clinical hours don't matter.

It just suggests that simply increasing the number of clinical hours isn't an effective education strategy.

One of the articles that I reviewed for my dissertation that really got me thinking about these additional questions was by Dr. Kim Layton.

And she completed a systematic review on objective learning outcomes that are attributed to traditional clinical education models.

Of the 118 articles that her team reviewed, none of them supported the apprenticeship clinical model that continues to be used 50 years after it was started.
